1. School Photos

This is a reminder that the school photos are being taken on Wednesday of this week. This is a request to parents that their children arrive at school wearing the correct school uniform.

2. Gideon’s Bibles for Yr 8’s

The Gideon’s International organisation has supplied Bibles to our school to be distributed to Yr 7 and 8 students. I have handed these Bibles to those students who indicated that they would like to have one. If, however, you would not like your child to have one of these Bibles you are welcome to return it to school.

3. Old School Uniforms request

We are trying to build up a bank of uniforms which we can use at school in case children get wet or arrive at school without a uniform item or in some cases when they spill something on their uniform.

If there are any parents who have uniform items which their children have outgrown and no longer need and would like to donate these to the school please send these to the office to Mrs McGall.

4. Basketball Thank You

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Zoe Williams for coaching our basketball team over the past term. Zoe is a past student of Te Aroha Primary and is at present a Year 12 student at Te Aroha College. Zoe has been coaching our team each Monday afternoon and then supervising the team at their matches on a Tuesday evening. Thank you for your commitment it is much appreciated, particularly by the players.

5. Welcome to new Students

We would like to welcome the following students who started at our school today: Nitahn Trinder-Poutu, Heidi Mueller and Robert Te Kani. We hope they will be very happy at our school.

6. Headlice

We have been informed by a few parents that their children have headlice. This is a request to please check your child’s hair and if you notice eggs or live lice to treat with the appropriate lice shampoo obtainable from a pharmacy or supermarket. Lice spreads very quickly if left unchecked so we are requesting this check be done on all children even our most senior students.

7. Queen’s Birthday Weekend

This is a reminder that there will be no school on Monday 7 June 2010 as it is the Queen’s Birthday Weekend holiday.

Have a great week with your children.
