Classroom Round Ups

Room 1 (Mrs Johnson): Our letterland work for this week is Bouncy Ben and words that rhyme with big. In Maths we are working on our number knowledge and adding and taking away small numbers. Our language and art unit this week is about birds.  Many children need a new glue stick please. They will have a note in their homework book. Thank you.

Room 4 (Miss Boyd): Hello Everyone. We are gaining lots of steps in our Greatest Feat. We have stepped over 180km so far. Don’t forget to bring your pedometer to school each day so your steps can be recorded. In Letterland and Maths we continue with Blends and number knowledge. For explanation writing we have been writing about the life cycle of a butterfly. Enjoy your week.

Room 6 (Mrs Cox): We are carrying on with our mapping and investigating our characters for the production. The pedometers are still clicking over and we are all looking forward to the soccer world cup after the All Whites fantastic win over the weekend.

Room 7 (Miss Entwisle):

Our Spelling Chunk is ack and our digraph is sh.

In Maths we are looking at Geometry (2-D and 3-D shapes).

Our topic work has us starting to plan for our school production (Term 3). We will be allocating roles and designing our own costumes.

ICT: We continue to familiarise ourselves with the KnowledgeNET programme.

Homework Reminders:

Spelling words

Reading Books

Homework Pages (Week 7)

Room 9 (Mr Hale): Week Seven already! We are busy writing formal letters, adding and subtracting money and continuing with the "dreaded" paper mache. Our plants have finally started to grow, no thanks to RM 10s attempts to sabotage our crop!

Room 10 (Mrs Brittenden): Kia ora from Mrs B.

We have a busy week so it is important that we plan what we have to do and manage our time so that we do it!

Literacy – we develop our skills with graphic organisers to demonstrate our understanding of a variety of texts

- we will be publishing our explanatory writing and begin a new piece.

Numeracy – Mrs B has no sense of direction but we will be leading her the right way as we discover the points on a compass (all students need a protractor for degrees of rotation).

Topic – what invention could you not do without? We investigate this and present our findings on an A4 (*this is the homework task for this week)

Big smiles and correct uniform for our class photos on Wednesday.

Year 8 cooking at Tech need to have cheese for macaroni and any other "extras" you wish to have in your recipe.

Kia kaha - Mrs B
